This blog will be dedicated to the relentless search for "truth" in all cricket-related matters. Please note that when I refer to matters, I mean all objective questions related to the cricket world. This blog is the combined output of two cricket enthusiasts: Olaf, and his twin brother, Damien (me). Names have been changed to protect the guilty. Olaf, who is a mathematician by training and a public servant by necessity, will form the vanguard of our combined statistical attack. My name is Damien, and I am a professional gambler by training and a writer by necessity. Who, at this early stage, can say what this partnership will garner? However, one thing is for sure, we will tread where few statisticians have dared to tread before. We will be called iconoclasts as we question the most fundamental and, indeed, sacrosanct of cricket-related beliefs. We, in turn, may declare our detractors to be idolaters, hollow shells of men and women, who watch cricket blindly believing in the most baseless of preconceptions. Whatever the end result, this is the beginning of an odyssey that will result not just in bumps and bruises, but rather in a slaughterhouse of decapitated gods and severed shamans.
